When we released the GTS translation plugin for WordPress in September 2010 it provided translation from English to French, Italian, German and Spanish. Now we have released a new software version that supports Russian, using the Microsoft Translation API. And we plan on adding more languages very soon.

The GTS translation plugin offers a unique approach to automated translation of blogs and websites that are built using the open-source WordPress CMS. Our plugin provides human translation of content through post-edited machine translation. The plugin offers a complete set of tools for crowdsourcing your own translations by creating your own community of translators. When installed, the GTS translation plugin promotes SEO of websites and blogs. All translated content is cached in the WordPress database so it can be found and indexed by search engines. Permalink URL names are also translated, as are the category and tag pages.

Since its initial release, the GTS translation plugin has been downloaded several thousand times and has been installed in about 200 websites. You can download the GTS translation plugin from here.

Since we launched the GTS Translation plugin for WordPress last September, it has been downloaded about 2,000 times and installed in over 100 blogs. We just released a new version today with some important new features.

The GTS Translation plugin is the only SEO-enabled blog translation solution which guarantees more search engine results, more readers and more traffic. The plugin is also suitable for any website that is published in WordPress. Ours is the only solution which is based on post-edited machine translation and crowdsourcing.

Some of the websites who have recently installed our plugin include:

Chanukah is upon us. This Wednesday evening marks the beginning of the 8-day long festival of lights. But wait a minute, isn’t Paris the city of light? At any rate, one of the hottest tech conferences of the year, LeWeb 2010, is taking place in Paris on the 7th and 8th days of Chanukah (December 8 and 9). And I will be there.

I am going to the conference for a few reasons:

  1. I am taking my wife for a romantic getaway to the world’s most romantic city.
  2. The conference promises to be awesome both in terms of technology and in terms of partying. World famous DJ Bob Sinclar will spin the music at the party on Wednesday night.

We are developing a platform for translation of blogs into different languages. We released our first product in September, a plugin for WordPress. It has already been downloaded over 1,000 times and installed in a few dozen blogs. You can read more information here and here. You can also access the software on the WordPress website.

Ours is the only SEO-enabled blog translation solution. It guarantees more search engine results, more readers, more traffic. Our vision is to create a vast traffic network and a worldwide translation community.

The solution is based on post-edited machine translation and crowdsourcing (community translation). The translation software is self-owned, and does not use a public engine like Google’s.

Please DM me on Twitter (@davegrun) if you would like to meet at the LeWeb conference. See you in Paris!

Since we released the GTS Translation plugin for WordPress in September of this year, the application has been downloaded over 1,000 times. We are very pleased with this result, which has exceeded our expectations.

Several dozen blogs are using our plugin. Here is a partial list of the blogs that are using the GTS Translation plugin:

Thanks to these and the other blogs who have chosen to use our plugin. Our development work is continuing and we will announce upcoming releases in due time.

In the meantime, blogs that install our plugin are guaranteed to increase their international readership and get more search engine results, more readers and more traffic. I believe that this is the best blog translation solution on the market, offering the best translation quality and SEO effectiveness.

In September 2010 we released our GTS Translation plugin for translation of WordPress blogs. The GTS Translation plugin provides automatic translation of blogs using post-edited machine translation (MT). The translated and edited blog content is cached on your WordPress database so it can be SEO-optimized and found by search engines. Since its release, the GTS Translation plugin has been installed on a number of blogs and we are getting ready to roll out the 1.0 version of the plugin on November 1, 2010.

The GTS Translation plugin has a unique feature which none of the other WordPress plugins have: it is the only plugin that offers a complete set of tools to create your own, private translation community. So if you or your company have a blog, you can assign the post-editing tasks to the people in your organization that have relevant languages skills; and if you are multilingual, you can post-edit your own blog posts for optimal results.

Crowdsourcing translations has proven to be effective. Many software companies have been using crowdsourcing to localize their products into different languages. The most notable ones are Twitter and Facebook; but there are many other companies as well that are taking the translation crowdsourcing route as I wrote about in a blog post a while back. Crowdsourcing has not caught on in the world of blogging-yet. But why shouldn’t it? Many blogs have an international community, just like software products. And just like the software companies, blogs can build a translation community around people with common interests who are motivated to bring exciting new content to their part of the world. continue reading…
