If a membership in its directory there raises your profile (and I mean *physically* on the web page), it may be of value *if* you can show that your buyers are shopping there. That includes PROZ. If you are a translator and are good, you should be able to get plenty of job offers from the free directories. I also think that social networks (like Twitter and LinkedIn) will eventually make the translation directories obsolete.
